What We Are

State Your Cause is an honest an energetic soundtrack for life hailing from Central Ohio. While placing a strong emphasis on hard-hitting live shows, SYC has established themselves as a rock-and-roll mainstay for their growing fan base. The band refuses to disappoint the crowd and acknowledges their fans as the reason to take the stage. State Your Cause is consistent with their approach in their journey to remove the "local" tag from their name. With the music industry in a state of complete uncertainty, SYC is choosing to make listeners their chief concern.

Drawing from radio influences ranging from Breaking Benjamin to Story of the Year, band founders Danny Zeid and Deepan Rajah sought to break into the national music scene. While sharpening the SYC sound, the addition of drummer Matt Young solidified the foundation of what was to come. Following an extensive run of shows, SYC picked up frontman James Scott.
